Enter inputs above and click “Calculate layout”.

Grow Lights Coverage & Power Calculators

Estimate fixture quantity, canopy coverage, and electrical load. For exact layouts, request a Hydrotek lighting design review.

1) Coverage & Fixture Quantity

Example: bench height + canopy midpoint height.
Racks typically reduce usable canopy due to posts, access lanes, and structural zones.
Coverage varies by mounting height, optics, overlap strategy, and target uniformity.
Advanced: PPF method (more accurate) (DLI reference: PPFD × hours × 3.6 ÷ 1000)
Use manufacturer spec sheet if known.
Accounts for spacing, reflectance, and room losses.
Typical DLI planning ranges (reference):
  • Propagation: ~10–20 mol/m²/day
  • Mother plants: ~20–35 mol/m²/day (cultivar + SOP dependent)
  • Vegetative: ~20–35 mol/m²/day
  • Flowering: ~30–45+ mol/m²/day (cultivar dependent)

2) Electrical Load & Amps

Estimate connected load and amperage for circuit/panel planning.

Fixture quantity used:
Total connected load:
Estimated amperage:
Planning only. Final electrical design depends on circuits, drivers, and local code.

Climate Control Calculators

Establish baseline sizing for dehumidification, ventilation, circulation, cooling load, and CO₂ supplementation. Use the results to plan equipment packages, compare options, and share a spec snapshot with your team.

These tools provide planning-level estimates for commercial projects. Final sizing should be validated against your operating setpoints, HVAC design, and facility constraints.
Total plants contributing to transpiration in this room/zone.
Average irrigation volume applied per plant per day.
Percent of applied water that exits as runoff (not evaporated/transpired).
Planning assumption: portion of net applied water that becomes water vapor.
If your HVAC removes moisture, reduce the load assigned to dehumidifiers.
Adds buffer capacity for peaks, door cycles, and operational variability.
CFM = (Volume × ACH) ÷ 60.
Planning allowance for static pressure / friction losses.
Planning allowance for carbon/HEPA filters.
Recirculation target: Volume × AT/min (then adjusted).
Lighting heat is typically the dominant load in sealed rooms.
Planning add-on for dehu heat (approximation).
Delivers the hourly dose within the ON window.

Irrigation BOM Calculators

Planning-level irrigation bill of materials for benches/tables, grow rooms, and water rooms. Use the results to spec consumables and core components, then validate final sizing against layout, pressure losses, and operating setpoints.

Guidance only. Final pipe sizing, pump selection, and pressure regulation should be confirmed using exact zoning, emitter curves, filtration requirements, and TDH calculations.
Use 1 for single tables. For multi-tier racks, enter total levels.
Used to estimate plant count per table level.
Used for applied volume estimate (not for instantaneous flow sizing).
Planning count of laterals across table width.
Adds allowance for cuts, routing, and spares.
Used to estimate per-zone flow and valve counts.
Planning length; refine after routing.
Rule-of-thumb only; confirm with friction loss.
Typically equals your facility simultaneous irrigation flow.
Planning allowance for pipe + fittings + filters.
Run Calculate on the tabs you need first, then build the consolidated BOM. This aggregates duplicate items (same item + UOM) across the computed tabs.

Nutrients Delivery Systems Configurator

Configure an inline injection or batch-mix nutrient delivery system based on irrigation flow, number of zones, dosing channels, and water-room constraints. Use the results to build a planning BOM and align the right equipment architecture for your facility.

Planning-level guidance only. Final selection must be validated against water chemistry, pressure losses, irrigation scheduling (simultaneous zones), injector pump curves, and local plumbing codes/backflow requirements.
Typical flow when one irrigation zone/room loop is running.
Used to estimate peak injection flow (critical for sizing).
Optional. If provided, this overrides Flow per zone × Simultaneous zones.
City/well feed pressure before filtration/PRV losses.
Typical drip operating range (varies by emitter/regulators).
Used to estimate stock tank consumption and tank sizing.
Choose the approach you prefer; calculator will flag fit/risk based on inputs.
Helps determine filtration requirements and control recommendations.
Fine filtration upstream helps protect injectors/valves and reduce clogging risk.
Typical: 2-part (A/B), plus optional CalMag, additives, pH control.
A 1:100 ratio means 1 part concentrate per 100 parts water.
Common dosing bands: 50–500. Higher X = weaker injection per channel.
Used when Dose format is percent. Example: 1.0% per channel.
EC/pH targets typically require a controller, sensors, and metered dosing.
Planning: size each stock tank to cover daily usage × autonomy days.
Adds buffer for recipe swings, staffing, and refill lag.
High-frequency and recirc setups generally benefit from tighter control.
Helps bias toward proportional vs metered dosing architecture.
Strongly recommended for metered dosing and troubleshooting.
